Life and Landscape : 2011

Project Details
Project Date 2011

For their 50th Anniversary, the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty commissioned us to create a five part radio series celebrating life in this unique and protected landscape.

The AONB, which stretches along the coast between Brixham and Plymouth, is a rich source of stories and knowledge, which we have collected on the themes of farming and food production; transport; traditional skills; estuaries; fishing and the sea as well as people's accounts of how it is to live and work in the area. It has been fascinating to meet with farmers, fishermen, boat builders, orchard owners, local history experts, walkers, ferry operators, small businesses, bus mechanics, artists and musicians, all of whom have contributed to the series. Broadcasts can be heard on Soundart Radio every Saturday from March 26th -April 23rd 2011 at 1pm and will be available to listen again the following Monday.
